Book a private birding tour! Whether it’s all day, half a day, or just an hour of private instruction at a local park, I can lead you to the best birding spots, identify the birds we find, and help you improve your identification skills.
Full Day Tours (up to 9 hours): $220.00
Half Day Tours (up to 5 hours): $140.00
If you need me to provide transportation, add $60.00/day (up to 200 miles).
For longer tours beyond the range of a Portland area day trip, you will be responsible for my food and lodging costs.
Want a private lesson in gull ID, help sorting out the all the Little Brown Birds, or just a short guided bird walk? Meet me at a local Portland area site or your own yard for one-on-one instruction. $35.00/hr.
How do I sign up?
- To keep the insurance company and the lawyers happy, download and sign the HIKING AND BIRD WATCHING PARTICIPANT AGREEMENT. Birding, like all outdoor activities, poses risks. You might break a nail. You might drop your Swarovski binocular into the Pacific Ocean. Life happens.
- Email or call to schedule your tour. Tell me what species you are most interested in finding. Give me an indication of your personal mobility (i.e., are you comfortable walking two miles at a stretch, or do you need to stay close to the car?). Are we taking your vehicle, or do you want me to provide one?
- Mail your release form to me, along with the first $100 of your fee to hold your date. The balance of your fee can be paid at the time of your tour (cash or check). Your deposit will be refunded if you let me know you are canceling your tour at least 72 hours in advance.
